A brief history and promising future....

The Wexford Hurling Club was formed in January of 2002 by a small group of entrepenuers hailing from the affluent suburb of Boston known as Brighton. In it's very first year of existence the club reached the junior final where they lost a hotly contested match to Tipperary by a mere three points. With the success of that first year the club built up a solid solid foundation of home-based players that enabled them to enter both a junior and senior team the following year. The senior team competed very well in 2003 despite an incredibly competetive championship that year while the juniors advanced as far as the semi-final stage. Our players that year won numerous all-star nominations. It was a succesfull year for an emerging team with a bright future.

The Wexford Hurling Club has a strong base from Wexford itself but also boasts talent from Munster, Connaught, Ulster, and other counties in Leinster. With the 2004 season upon us and a good showing of talented home-based and away-based players, look for Wexford to compete righteously for the Senior and Junior Hurling Championship this year.
